BEHIND THE IRAN HEADLINES Series, May 8, 2024, Alireza Jafarzadeh, NCRI-US Deputy Director
The International Atomic Energy Agency’s chief Rafael Grossi told reporters following his trip to Iran that Tehran’s cooperation was “completely unsatisfactory… We are almost at an impasse… and this needs to be changed.”
This should come as no surprise. For years, the Iranian Resistance has warned the international community that the clerical regime will never meaningfully and effectively cooperate with the IAEA. There is indeed a nuclear crisis brewing, and the West’s fragmented response and its never-ending appeasement of Tehran have only deepened it
To be clear, obtaining a nuclear weapon capability is a core component of Tehran’s survival and warmongering strategy. Just imagine where the Middle East would be now if the mullahs had already possessed a nuclear weapon.
The reality is that the definitive end to this threat would only be achieved when the ruling theocracy is brought down by the Iranian people and is replaced by a democratic, peaceful, and non-nuclear republic.
As the Iranian people continue their struggle for freedom, the democratic alternative, the National Council of Resistance of Iran NCRI, promotes an unwavering commitment to world peace and regional tranquility.
In August 2002, the NCRI revealed the Iranian regime’s covert nuclear sites, the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, and the Arak heavy water facility. This revelation, which triggered, for the first time, the IAEA inspections of the Iranian nuclear sites, eventually led to international sanctions on Tehran. The continued revelations by the NCRI are a clear testament to NCRI’s commitment and its vital role in preventing the Iranian regime from obtaining the nuclear Bomb.
It is time for the international community to refer the regime’s nuclear dossier to the UN Security Council and reinstate and fully implement the six UN Security Council resolutions against the Iranian regime.
