How Iran’s Duplicitous Diplomacy, Callous Policies Cost Lives

Washington, DC — On Wednesday, April 8th, 11:00 am EDT (5:00 pm Central European Summer Time), the National Council of Resistance of Iran, US Representative Office (NCRI-US), will hold a webinar/press briefing on the coronavirus tragedy in Iran, and the regime’s ability to deal with the crisis, myths and facts. A report will be released on how the Iranian regime is exploiting the COVID-19 epidemic, at the cost of Iranians’ lives, to further its domestic and international agenda.

The Iranian regime has resorted to a systematic campaign to depict US sanctions as the main cause of those shortages and thus of Iran’s national calamity. The briefing, based on an extensive study on the topic, examines the validity of Tehran’s claims and assertions.

The study will be released at the news conference, which will be accessible to accredited journalists to participate and ask questions. It will be livestreamed as well.

On April 5, the regime’s president, Hassan Rouhani, called for two thirds of government workers to get back to work, regardless of the risks to their health and even their lives.
